Cuisse de Nymphe Rose (before 1400)
In France this rose is known as Cuisse de Nymphe, but in England, due to the exaggerated Victorian prudishness, it is known as Maiden’s Blush. This rose is among the most attractive roses ever. It combines all the finest qualities of the Alba Rose. Dark red in colour, and with a strong fragrance, it grows on a thick shrub covered in grey-green foliage. It is a strong, healthy and vigorous plant. It was identified as the rose in Botticelli’s Primavera.
